History :
She grew up as a normal child on the streets of Ishter even though she had no
parents. They had unfortunately died of a sickness, and she was left alone with
nobody. Chantal had lived a life of stealing to get a living.
However, doing all this didn't make her feel useful. She quit being a thief but
most of the citizens had recognized her under the tattered rags she worn to be
"shrouded".
Finally, she was caught by a sorcerer who had decided to punish her for her
crimes. At first she was forced to give the money back, but she admitted
reluctantly that she had lost them all. Unable to tolerate it anymore, he
pretended to give her a ring that was cursed with a horrible spell.
Taking it, she quickly wore it, and waited for the next day. However, on the
"next day", she got a shock of her life. The transformation was slow;
her hair changed to different types of writhing snakes. Her eyes were replaced
by a red cornea and a small yellow slit serving as her pupil. Slowly her legs
melded together, forming a greenish blue tail. She realized that she
had to change her name and never come back to Ishter again.
Her arms were covered with scales, and her hands had become claws. Thinking of
no name, she chose "Medusa".
Then she met with Exile, a wyrd. She begged her to offer her a home, and the
wyrd finally gave in. Medusa was satisfied as somebody will accept her until she
met the other Seekers. She had recognized Hybrid as "Kith", one of her
fellow thieves. So they got along well, and she developed a love interest in
Hybrid.
Personality : She's the quiet type - she doesn't bother talking much
with the others. Medusa often wishes for her human form back, but now realizes
that she has a goal now. She doesn't like to talk with the others, because she's
just too scared of herself.
Weaknesses :
She loved to run before she became a wyrd, but now her tails persists her to do
so. Also, with the barbs on her arms, she finds it hard to hug or touch
somebody. She used to speak perfect language, but now it is hard because her
"snake tongue" gives her a hiss in her speech.Weapons :
Medusa fights using a staff
Special Abilities : She can spit
venom from her venom sacs and she has barbs on her tail that can hurt the enemy.
She also has a staff, that has barbs on the handle. It doesn't hurt her, but it
can hurt the enemy who holds it. Like her namesake, her eyes can change humans
and demons to stone. When they are in petrified form, she destroys them with her
staff (wasn't it obvious?).
Skills : Her greatest skill is that she can find anything that is
valuable and has some worth.
Relationships :
Exile:
She treats the wyrd as a mother. Exile finds trust and potential in Medusa,
although she is young and perhaps a bit naive. Medusa can't never thank Exile
enough for giving her a home.
Paladin:
They usually talk, but not for a long time. She likes to sit on his body and go
for a ride. But he doesn't like the way she calls him "Horsy"!
Seer:
She doesn't like the Seer much, because of her "arrogance". Sometimes
Seer thinks that it is worth that she become like this. They always argue over
nonsensical things so...it'd be best to keep out of their way if they fight.
Ecu:
Medusa likes to play with the firecat, but Seer doesn't approve much of this.
Ecu believes that the snake wyrd is very kind, and it wasn't her fault that she
became like this.
Hybrid:
Hybrid has a little crush on her, not because they are thieves but because
they are mutated from a spell too. The only person she fully understands in the
group is him. They have much in common, so if it is allowed, they could be the
best couple in the group!
Kyei Sham:
Medusa feels pitiful about Kyei's past, and wishes she can find a
"Cure" for the plague that struck her. The snake wyrd is one of few
that can "soften" Kyei.
Camille:
Although she doesn't believe that "angels" exist, she finds great
trust in the fallen angel. They have the same personalities, and finds Camille's
special abilities a little...'strange'.
